The Center For Economic Progress is a Chicago-based non-profit that provides tax and financial counseling services for low-wage workers while advocating for a better tax system.
The Center has worked with Mark Royko and Associates since 2006, when it helped convert the Center's first static HTML site to a database-backed content management system. In the site's most recent incarnation, Mark Royko helped convert economicprogress.org to the Drupal CMS, one of the most popular content management systems in the world.
That project included a complete site redesign, migration of all legacy content, and the conversion of a custom built zip-code application that allows uses to search the CEP database for office locations within their immediate areas. Mark Royko also provided system training, and ongoing technical support to CEP staff.
Site features include SEO optimization; private "gated" areas that securely display private content to privileged users; and a specialized content administration system that allows administrators to easily update all page graphics, callouts and page content from a single screen. This site was designed by Karen Gibson.
